Welcome to the website of the Utrecht University branch (U) of the Nationaal Herbarium Nederland (NHN). This is the Section Plant Systematics of the Faculty of Biology of Utrecht University (UU) and is devoted to the study of plants in general and the Flora of South America in particular. The partners in the NHN are the Universiteit Leiden branch (formerly Rijksherbarium, L) and the Wageningen University branch (formerly Herbarium Vadense, WAG).

Flora of the Guianas Project
This Flora is a critical treatment of the plant taxa occurring in the Guianas; it is a cooperative project with participating institutions in nine countries.

Virtual Tree Guide of the Guianas
Over 4000 specimens of ca. 2500 species digitized in the NHN-Utrecht.

An electronic network of botanists, ecologists and taxonomists who share data and information on diversity in the pan-Amazon.
